Det amerikanska nätverket The CW formade hela sin identitet kring superhjältar för ungefär tio år sedan och lanserade ett relativt framgångsrikt Arrowverse baserat på TV-serien Arrow, följt av The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow och många, många fler.
Men nu skrotas alla dessa, och nätverket har kollektivt beslutat att lämna superhjältarna framöver. I en intervju hos The Hollywood Reporter sade Brad Schwartz från The CW att dessa program "haft sin tid":
"They were the hallmarks of The CW for a long time. As we look forward and try to make this network bigger and profitable, frankly, as much as we all love those shows and they had their time, they're not working on linear. The young adult audience not making an appointment with broadcast today."
The CW ska framöver istället fokusera på att producera bredare program.
