Det är ingen hemlighet att det är en annan upplevelse att se en film hemma än på bio. Sociala medier, spel eller vad man nu gillar att göra på mobilen lockar ofta, även om man försöker fokusera när man tittar hemma. Netflix vet detta, och enligt Matt Damon ändrar de nu hur deras filmer presenteras för att hålla intresset uppe och informera tittarna om vad som händer även när de sitter med mobilen i handen. När han besökte Joe Rogans podcast (via Variety sade han:
"You usually have three set pieces. One in the first act, one in the second, one in the third. You spend most of your money on that one in the third act. That's your finale. And now they're like, 'Can we get a big one in the first five minutes? We want people to stay. And it wouldn't be terrible if you reiterated the plot three or four times in the dialogue because people are on their phones while they're watching.'"
Ben Affleck, som också spelar i Netflix-actionfilmen The Rip tillsammans med Damon, tycker inte att det är nödvändigt att locka publik på det här sättet:
"But then you look at Adolescence, and it didn't do any of that shit. And it's fucking great. And it's dark too. It's tragic and intense. [It's about] this guy who finds out his kid is accused of murder. There are long shots of the back of their heads. They get in the car, nobody says anything."
Så även om det kan låta dystert att filmer och TV-serier som skapas för en ointresserad publik som sitter med mobil i näven - så finns det fortfarande projekt som respekterar sin publik nog att tro att de faktiskt tittar ordentligt.
