Microsoft har redan undertecknat ett bindande avtal med Nintendo där man lovar att släppa ett Call of Duty-spel till Switch och den kommande Switch 2 (samt potentiellt även Switch 3) varje år under de kommande tio åren.
Vissa kanske tror att det kommer bli svårt med tanke på den svagare hårdvaran, men Microsoft är övertygade om att det blir bra. Brittiska konkurrensmyndigheten CMA har publicerat ett gäng uttalanden från Microsoft (via VGC), där de säger att de är övertygade om att de kan köra både Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II och Warzone II fullt ut till Switch, utan att använda streaming:
"The Activision development team has a long history of optimizing game performance for available hardware capabilities. The game engine that powers Warzone is mature and has been optimized to run on a wide range of hardware devices (ranging from the Xbox One console released in 2013 up to the Xbox Series X).
The Parties are confident that in addition to Warzone, CoD buy-to-play titles (e.g., CoD: Modern Warfare 2) can be optimised to run on the Nintendo Switch in a timely manner using standard techniques which have been used to bring games such as Apex Legends, DOOM Eternal, Fortnite and Crysis 3 to the Switch."
