Miles Morales-tecknaren Sara Pichelli berättar om inspirationen från europeiska serieskapare

Under vår tid på San Diego Comic Con Malaga nyligen fick vi möjlighet att prata med medskaparen och tecknare som gav liv åt Ultimate Spider-Man-versionen av Miles Morales. Vi träffade Sara Pichelli och frågade den italienska kreatören om den senaste tidens uppsving för europeiska författare och konstnärer som sätter sina avtryck på serievärlden, och varför detta sker just nu. Hon svarade:

"I think it's all of this together, because we have a different state of mind. We're very far from American way of thinking in the good way and in the bad way. So maybe they needed that in the comic industry now, well... back then, when the Internet started to be the main way of sending stuff, portfolios, so it was easier to find talents all around the world. So maybe it's our history, maybe we're just good for that."

Vi pratade även med Pichelli om hennes version av Miles Morales och hur hans "story needed to be told" och hur hon är "always excited" att se karaktären i filmer, TV och spel, även om hon inte spelar dem eftersom hon är självutnämnd boomer.
