Shigeru Miyamoto är en av de mest inflytelserika personerna i spelhistorien. Utan honom hade vi inte haft Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong, Star Fox och Pikmin. Trots sina år i tjänst är Miyamoto fortfarande ivrig inför sitt arbete.
Men det kommer en dag då han hänger upp sin röda hatt för gott. Det kan såklart framstå som en dag som kommer skaka om Nintendo från grunden, men för Miyamoto själv är det inte så dramatiskt. Till NPR säger han:
"I really feel like it's not going to change. It's probably going to be the same. There's, you know, people on the executive team, creators within the company and also people who create Mario, they all have this sense of what it means to be Nintendo.
Even when there's new ideas that come up, there's always the fact that it's a new idea, but also the fact that, is it a new idea that really has the essence of Nintendo or not?"
Miyamoto är fortfarande för närvarande involverad i en mängd Nintendo-projekt, bland annat The Super Mario Bros Movie som släpps om drygt en månad. Tanken på att Miyamoto inte skulle vara involverad i något Nintendo-projekt känns avlägset, men är sannolikt inte alltför långt borta. Hur tror du det kommer påverka dem?
