Den här konsolgenerationen - ett uttryck som från och med imorgon syftar på Playstation 4 och Xbox One snarare än Playstation 3 och Xbox 360 - har löpt på i åtta år, och det är längre än vad EA-chefen Patrick Söderlund hade velat.
I intervju med MCV förutspår Söderlund att Playstation 4 och Xbox One kommer att ha betydligt kortare livstid, och att vi kommer att se nästa konsolgeneration redan om fem eller sex år.
"This console cycle may have gone on a little bit longer than I would have wanted."
"At the same time, you have seen games like The Last of Us and GTA V at the end of a cycle which perhaps you would not have expected a few years ago. But a five, six year gap is what I expect going forward."
