Alla vi som har sett E3-trailern till Uncharted 4: A Thief's End kommer säkert ihåg den långa biljakten där Nathan och Sully flyr i sin Jeep genom kåkstäder och över hustak. En häftig sekvens helt klart, men många trodde säkert att det var allt vi skulle se av Jeepen, men så är inte fallet. Enligt Naughty Dog-höjdaren Bruce Straley är Jeepen en rätt viktig del av Nathans arsenal. Det kommer att finnas områden spelet som är alldeles för stora att korsa till fots och där kommer Jeepen till sin rätta. Viss terräng kommer endast att gå att korsa med Jeepen.
"You actually see it earlier in the game you get used to all the controls in much larger environments than this, you can play with the jeep. There are places that you can't necessarily traverse through on foot, types of mud, bouldering over terrain, rocky terrain.
We're going wide when we want to and we're going to narrow it down when the story calls for it. It's all about pacing. We look at our needs. What do we need to get out of this? What do we need to say about the characters? How do we use the tools in our kit? You have to find your way, to use these tools you have like the rope, the piton, the jeep. The jeep you can get in and out of throughout these 'explore areas'. Ultimately, it's about letting the player "key into that adventure element"."
Anledningen till att Nathan Drake denna gång kommer att kunna äventyra runt i större områden är själva Playstation 4-konsolen. Den ökade minneskapaciteten hos Playstation 4 är det som tillåter Naughty Dog göra Uncharted 4: A Thief's End till ett mycket öppnare spel än sina föregångare.
