Det florerar gott om rykten om när The Last of Us: Part II ska släppas, med teorier om att det sker redan till hösten samt snack om först 2020. Frågar man utvecklaren Naughty Dog, så vill de helst inte prata alls om detta ännu. Studions kommunikationschef Arne Meyer skriver bland annat såhär om saken på Twitter:
