Nintendo-chefen svarar på frågor om Switch 2-prissättningen

Det verkar som att Nintendo haft en stadig ström av möten med sina aktieägare den senaste tiden. Efter en ny omgång konsultationer har företagets VD, Shuntaro Furukawa, svarat på investerarfrågor, däribland en som rör huruvida det högre priset på Switch 2 kan försvåra för yngre spelare från att få tillgång till den nya hårdvaran, vilket utöver minskat försäljning för produkterna även gör att barn inte tyr sig till Nintendo lika tidigt.

Furukawa svarade (tack Nintendo Everything) att priset på Nintendo Switch 2 motsvarar den spelupplevelse den erbjuder, och att de undersöker andra vägar för yngre målgrupper som kan ha svårare att skaffa konsolen genom att "creating various opportunities for young children to experience Nintendo characters and the world of video games outside of consoles":

"We believe that the Nintendo Switch 2's price point is commensurate with the gaming experience it offers, and the important thing is to provide a fun entertainment experience that makes customers feel it's worth it. To achieve this, we've built a number of features into Nintendo Switch 2.

It is true that Nintendo Switch 2 is more expensive than previous consoles. We are creating various opportunities for young children to experience Nintendo characters and the world of video games outside of consoles, but one of the goals is for them to ultimately play on them. At that point, we're paying a lot of attention to how high the price of the console is going to be."
