Valve har uppdaterat Steam med en funktion som visar vilka spel som precis har uppdaterats så att du ska veta vilka titlar som har begåvats med nytt innehåll direkt. Man har också gjort en avdelning där du kan kika på historiken för uppdateringarna. Valve själva beskriver det här som ett sätt att öka kommunikationen mellan utvecklare och spelare:
"Designed to give developers more ways to communicate with gamers about their products on Steam, this public release was matched with a tools release that lets developers elect when to add their update to this product area and what to say about the contents of their latest update."
