Att superhjältefilmer drabbas av ''reshoots'' är mer vanligt än det är ovanligt nu för tiden, där näst intill varje film genomgår reshoots i någon utsträckning. Avengers: Doomsday är inget undantag, men det hör däremot till det ovanliga att det är skådespelare själva som begär att spela in nya scener, men det är precis vad Robert Downey Jr. har gjort.
I ett nyligen släppt podcastavsnitt av podcasten The Hot Mic berättar insiders-snubbarna Jeff Sneider och John Rocha att man spelat in nya scener under nästan en hel månad. Majoriteten av dessa scener verkar ha kretsat kring Doctor Doom och enligt källan ska Downey inte ha varit med fysiskt i flera scener, utan ha lagt på sin röst i efterhand istället. Men med facit i hand, tyckte skådespelaren inte att det höll måttet utan begärde att få fysiskt vara med i scenerna för att göra dem så bra som möjligt.
"I heard Doomsday had to undergo three weeks of reshoots at Downey's request. There were times when Downey would be present on set to read lines for Doctor Doom, but not be involved in the scenes. In his place, body and face doubles would be standing in the movie. Eventually Downey realized the situation was not working, and requested to reshoot the entire three week's of scenes, with him in the actual Doctor Doom costume."
