Microsoft: Matcha Xbox One X-prestandan kostar upp till 15 000 kronor

Microsoft har inte direkt gjort någon hemlighet om vad de anser om prestandan i kommande besten Xbox One X, som rent av marknadsförs med enbart digitala hästkrafter som försäljningsargument. Det här kostar såklart pengar och vi vet redan att enheten trots en prislapp på €499 inte genererar någon vinst. Det här ville vi såklart veta mer om och haffade Xbox marketing chief Mike Nichols under E3 för att få veta mer om Xbox One X. Han sade:

"Until now the performance and power that the Xbox One X is going to offer would cost somebody upwards of $1000 or up to $1500 dollars American, and then all the equivalents around the world."

Det betyder alltså upp till närmare 15 000 kronor, enligt Nichols. Han förklarar att han är väldigt stolt över vad som åstadkommits:

"Figuring out a way to offer that much power and performance in a console for the first time for $500 is something we're really proud of. Because this is really the first of its kind, this console is far more powerful than anything else on the market. It's the only console that's designed to enable true 4K gameplay, it's the only console with the amount of system memory that it has so that developers can do some really magical stuff.

Yes, it's a premium quality product, it's also appropriately priced. But that's really what led us to the price point, was... listen, the amount of sophistication that's in this, requires a certain price."

Xbox One X släpps den 7 november. Svensk prislapp saknas, men €499 gäller för eurozonen. Normalt kan vi räkna med tio kronor per euro, men räkna med en bra bit över 5000 kronor för oss svenskar med regeringens nya skatt på elektronik (undviks dock via import). En rimlig gissning är 5500 kronor hos oss.
