Utvecklare: Telltale borde ha haft egna spelserier

Nyligen klappade Telltale Games ihop och det var på vippen att The Walking Dead: The Final Season fick avslutas redan efter den första delen. Nu tar dock Skybound över och räddar detta projekt, men över 200 anställda har blivit av med sina jobb. En otroligt trist situation såklart, men även något som Arcade Distillery-anställde Luc Bernard menar kunde ha undvikits.

Det är till Twinfinite han pekar ut orsakerna till konkursen och att det gick så fort:

"With the Telltale thing, I'm looking at it from a business point of view. They really fucked themselves by only having licenses. They don't have any original IP, right? So that made their company not valuable. That's why they couldn't save it. They couldn't sell the company. Everyone was amazed. They don't own anything. They're pretty much a shell of a company.

I think they grew too fast. 250 people? Holy shit, that's a bit too many people. So, I think they grew too fast and had nothing that belonged to them and that's where they went wrong.

I think they would have avoided this if they actually had IP. They were obviously not making enough [money]."

Tror du Bernard har rätt, och att Telltale borde sett till att faktiskt äga några egna spelserier med?
