Inget Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night till Mac eller Linux

När insamlingen till andliga Castlevania-uppföljaren Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night var klar på Kickstarter, var tanken att spelet skulle släppas till Linux, Mac, PC, Playstation 4, Wii U och Xbox One. Men eftersom spelets utveckling drog ut på tiden och Wii U lades ner i förtid av Nintendo, bestämde sig producenten Koji Igarashi för att slopa Wii U och satsa på Switch istället, varpå de som valt Wii U som format fick byta till ett annat.

Nu har en ny uppdatering postats av Igarashi som dels önskar alla god jul, men del även meddelar att ytterligare två format strukits från listan, nämligen Linux och Mac:

This year is coming closer to an end...

In this update, we have a very important announcement to make. Bloodstained will no longer be supported on Mac and Linux. We have made this tough decision due to challenges of supporting middleware and online feature support and making sure we deliver on the rest of the scope for the game. We will be offering backers who planned to play the game on Mac and Linux the option to change the platform of their order. If you would like to change your platform, please send an email with your new platform request from the email address associated with your Kickstarter pledge. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and we hope for your understanding."

Utvecklingen har tydligen kommit långt och just nu återstår optimering av spelets prestanda. Igarashi fortsätter med att skriva:

"Development has reached its peak — we are currently checking the performance of Bloodstained on each platform. Overall, we are done with enemy placement and entering the adjustment phase. But there are still many progression-blocking bugs that must be taken care of."

Kort sagt verkar det som att lanseringen av Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night inte är alltför avlägset längre, och förhoppningsvis kan vi få ett premiärdatum utannonserat förr snarare än senare.
