Vi vet ännu inte hur lång tid det kommer ta för ett slutgiltigt beslut angående CMA:s blockering av Microsofts Activision Blizzard-uppköp, men vi vet nu åtminstone när Microsofts överklagande officiellt börjar diskuteras.
Som VGC skriver har domare Marcus Smith nu schemalagt förhandlingar till att börja den 24 och 31 juli, men det är inte känt hur länge dessa kommer pågå. Vi vet dock att panelen brukar avsätta drygt nio månader för ett beslut:
"The hearing of the substance of this application will take place in the fortnight commencing July 24, so the weeks commencing the 24th and 31st of July. I'm not expecting it to take the whole of those 10 days but I would like the parties to err on the side of longer rather than shorter oral submissions. It seems to me that that is an excess that we can afford.
CMA har försökt skjuta fallet längre in i framtiden för att få mer tid att förbereda sin sak, enligt VGC, men alltså inte lyyckats:
"While Microsoft told the judge it wanted the hearings to take place as soon as possible, the CMA had been pushing for a later date to give it more time to prepare its case".
