Vi rapporterade tidigare att John Lasseter, som anklagades för olämpliga närmanden och sexuellt ofredande, lämnar sin chefsposition hos Pixar mot slutet av året efter att ha tagit tjänstledigt. Grundaren lämnar därmed ett stort tomrum efter sig, men inte länge till; nu har det bekräftats att Pete Docter och Jennifer Lee ersätter Lasseter enligt Variety
Lee (Frozen) och Docter (Inside Out) kommer alltså att dela chefpositionen, där Lee ansvarar för det kreativa arbetet hos Walt Disney Animation Studios och Docter ansvarar för Pixar Animation Studios. Så här sade Lee om sin nya position:
"Animation is the most collaborative art form in the world, and it is with the partnership of my fellow filmmakers, artists, and innovators that we look ahead to the future. My hope is to support the incredible talent we have, find new voices, and work together to tell original stories"
Docter, som var en av de ursprungliga genierna i Pixars "brain-trust" tillade:
"I started here 28 years ago. I am fortunate to work alongside some of the most talented people on the planet, and together we will keep pushing animation in new directions, using the latest technology to tell stories we hope will surprise and delight audiences around the world"
