Corona-viruset fortsätter att sprida elände omkring sig, och medan vissa branscher klarat sig väl, har andra drabbats desto hårdare. Till sistnämnda hör bio. Inte bara finns tuffa restriktioner kring besök, det kommer ju heller inga filmer eftersom nästan allt skjuts upp (enda storfilmen i år är Wonder Woman 1984).
Och nu kommer en ny kraftig smäll, då Disney twittrar:
Disney and Pixar's Soul will be streaming exclusively on Disney+ on December 25th.
Kort sagt, lagom till att resterna av julmaten är uppäten, du börjat känna att släkten är påfrestande och du inlett insamlandet av kvitton på alla usla presenter du vill lämna tillbaka för att kunna fynda i mellandagarna - så kommer du alltså kunna luta dig tillbaka och avnjuta en splitterny Pixar-film från stream-tjänsten Disney+. I en pressrelease kommenterar Disney-chefen Bob Chapek:
"We are thrilled to share Pixar's spectacular and moving 'Soul' with audiences direct to Disney+ in December. A new original Pixar film is always a special occasion, and this truly heartwarming and humorous story about human connection and finding one's place in the world will be a treat for families to enjoy together this holiday season."
Pete Docter (Monsters Inc., Up), som regisserade Soul tillsammans med Kemp Powers (One Night in Miami), lägger till:
"The world can be an exhausting and frustrating place - but it's also full of unexpected joys, even in seemingly mundane things. 'Soul' investigates what's really important in our lives, a question we're all asking these days. I hope it will bring some humor and fun to people at a time when everyone can surely use that."
