Idag har Xbox 360 börjat utöka sin ledning mot Playstation 3 även internationellt sett efter att avståndet sakta krympt sedan sistnämndas lansering. Men det finns fortfarande möjligheter för Sony att ta ikapp och gå om, säger analytikern Billy Pidgeon på M2 Research till Industry Gamers.
Skulle Microsoft släppa Xbox 720, så skulle Sony få det lägre prissegmentet för sig själv eftersom även Wii ersätts av Wii U, menar Pidgeon som säger: "Should Microsoft release a successor to Xbox 360 and shift the pipeline for hardcore games over to the new consoles, that would be a possible scenario by which PS3 could bypass Xbox 360's active installed base."
"This scenario would give PS3 the opportunity to soak up the hardcore sector.", avslutar han.
