Om du hoppades på att få återse Al Pacino eller Robert De Niro i Michael Manns kommande uppföljare till Heat så lär du bli gruvligt besviken. Enligt vad regissören berättat för The Playlist kommer nämligen de båda skådespelarna att återskapas genom en kombination av stand-ins, CGI och smink. Vidare så berättade Mann även att filmen kommer utspela sig flera år innan originalet, och att de versioner av karaktärerna vi kommer att få se är yngre versioner av McCauley och Hanna.
"It's going to be a combination of CG and makeup. And so, it won't be Robert De Niro and Al Pacino playing McCauley and Hanna. And it actually starts eight years earlier than the movie. It starts in 1988, and then it's gonna jump to 2000. But I don't really know who to cast until I've actually written the screenplay, but I'm in the middle of writing the screenplay right now. And Warner Bros. have been very patient."

"I'm angry. I'm very angry, Ralph. You know, you can ball my wife if she wants you to. You can lounge around here on her sofa, in her ex-husband's dead-tech, post-modernistic bullshit house if you want to. But you do not get to watch my fucking television set!"
