Playstation-chefen Jim Ryan har senaste året flugit jorden runt för att övertala lagstiftare att blockera och motsätta sig Microsofts Activision Blizzard-uppköpt, och i Storbritannien nådde han viss framgång. Men nyligen lät den brittiska myndigheten CMA meddela en preliminär bedömning där man tänkt om och anser nu att affären inte negativ för gamers.
I ett officiellt uttalande säger nu Sony att de anser bedömningen vara "irrationell" och lägger till:
"The CMA's reversal of its position on its consoles theory of harm is surprising, unprecedented, and irrational. The provisional findings assessed a significant body of evidence in the round to support its finding that Microsoft would have the ability and incentive to withhold Activision content, and this would substantially lessen competition by forclosing Playstation."
Microsoft har redan från början sagt att de inte har för avsikt att medvetet försämra Playstation-versionerna av Call of Duty, och deras kommentar om det brittiska preliminära beslutet lyder:
"Microsoft has been clear since the announcement of the merger: it has no intention to withhold or degrade access to Call of Duty or any other Activision content on Playstation."
