Att många PS5-spel som konverteras till PC hackar och hostar känner vi alla till. Åtskilliga Sony-storspel som rullats ut till PC har varit direkt larvigt dåligt optimerade och detta är en trend som tycks fortsätta, även om Rise of the Ronin inte är ett Sony-spel utan utvecklat av Dead or Alive/Ninjua Gaiden-teamet hemma hos Tecmo. PC-versionen är nu ute och Steam-användare vittnar nu om et spel som är så dåligt optimerat att det verkar slå nya rekord.
"Breaks my heart to do this, but I just can't recommend the game in its current state. The optimization is as bad as everyone is saying. If you played Wo Long at launch and remember the optimization problems that plagued that title at launch, this is actually worse. It really is a bummer. Likely going to refund and wait for a patch."
"The basic feeling at the start is: stutter, a lot of stutter. Game needs more polished before its ready KOEI."
"Is it really that hard to not make bad PC port? Stuttering on a 4090 is just... no."
"Do graphics matter? No. Does it matter when the game is a 150 GB install, and at 4k with everything maxed it still looks like garbage? You better believe it should. The game looks like early PS4 graphics...and the fact that the game performance is INSANELY bad is unacceptable."
Tecmo har besvarat kritiken på följande sätt:
"We are currently investigating reported issues for "Rise of the Ronin" Steam edition.
When set to the "Ultra" preset, there are instances where the following issues occur, regardless of PC specifications:
・FPS drops and slow performance
・Model rendering issues
Changing the preset to "High" or "Standard" may resolve these issues.
Game runs in slow motion when "FPS Limit" is set to 120. Changing "FPS Limit" to 60 may resolve this issue. We are currently preparing a patch, which will be released soon, to fix or improve some of these issues. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that you may have experienced."
