Nominations are still open for 16 categories.

The UK Esports Awards has confirmed its venue, as the event will be livestreamed by broadcast partner ESL UK from the Studio 1 facility in Leicester on June 30 this year, the same venue that hosted the ESL UK Premiership finals for Rainbow Six: Siege that we attended not too long ago.

The awards will highlight esports talent throughout the UK, and the following 16 categories have been announced, with over 500 names already nominated in the first week:

⦁Player of the Year

⦁Team of the Year

⦁Manager of the Year

⦁Organisation of the Year

⦁Caster of the Year

⦁Presenter/Host of the Year

⦁Streamer of the Year

⦁Tournament of the Year

⦁Admin of the Year

⦁Photographer of the Year

⦁Videographer of the Year

⦁Reporter of the Year

⦁Service Provider

⦁Backstage Hero

⦁Banter of the Year

⦁Wooden Spoon Award

Nominations are still open, but we don't know yet who the expert judging panel will be.

UK Esports Awards co-founder Dominic Sacco said: "The UK Esports Awards is not a typical awards ceremony with a black tie dress code or sit-down meal, but esports is not a typical industry. This is all about the community, recognising talent and helping to put UK esports on the map. We've chosen to hold the awards at ESL's Studio 1 because of its state-of-the-art facilities, which we feel are perfect for streaming the inaugural UK Esports Awards."
