Eller ja, det beror naturligtvis på hur man räknar men polska studion CD Project som står bakom den likbleke monsterbödeln Geralts blodiga framfart har gått ut med information rörande mängder "Årets spel"-utgivelser som The Witcher 3 kammat hem och det uppgår i dagsläget till hiskeliga 252 stycken, nytt världsrekord (faktiskt). Det tidigare rekordet innehölls av The Last of Us (249) vilket på ett sätt gör Wild Hunt till tidernas mest hyllade spel.
Witcher 3 vann även Game of the Year 2015 under Game Developers Choice Awards 2016 och CD Project meddelade i samma veva att spelet krängts i imponerande tio (!) miljoner exemplar.
