Tidigare ikväll visade Warner och DCU upp den första fullständiga trailern till kommande Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, vilken såg ut att bjuda på mer av exakt allt det som fans uppskattade från den första filmen. Tydligen är också filmbolaget nöjda med uppföljaren för enligt regissören James Wan vankas det ännu mer Aquaman och Jason Momoa i framtiden. I en intervju med GamesRadar sa Wan nämligen följande gällande Momoa, Aquaman och framtiden:
"The Jason Momoa story as Aquaman definitely has more places to go. The world building is very important,"
"We enjoy all the different worlds that no other superhero movies go into. That's what's so cool about the Aquaman films, it's really standalone. It lives in its own universe."
Wan fortsatte med att säga hur han gärna hade expanderat Aquaman ännu mer, med en rad spinn-off-filmer.
"My dream would be to create a Seven Kingdoms cinematic universe and visit all the different worlds that we touch on with these two films. Like the first movie, this one leans into the Ray Harryhausen spirit even more,"
"There are shades of Jules Verne in this as well. As you can see in the trailer, I'm aesthetically leaning pretty heavily into the 1960s Silver Age comic book of Aquaman, so a lot of the designs in this film have a very retro feeling."
"The spirit and the tone is very retro. It is a little bit darker than the first movie, as second movies tend to be, which felt like the correct progression for this film."
Slutligen nämnde även Wan att där fanns planer på en film med fokus på Black Manta, men att projektet stoppades för två år sedan för att de inte ville riskera en konflikt med Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, och en situation där filmerna kolliderade. Lite synd kan tyckas, men man kan inte få allt.
