Det har oftast känts som att den kommande TV-serien What If...? är mer av en intressant men meningslös serie som inte kommer påverka universumet över huvud taget. Enligt seriens exekutiva producent, Brad Winderbaum, stämmer detta däremot inte. Han menar nämligen att det inte är en slump att den tar vid där Loki slutar och att serien kommer få konsekvenser för universumet.
"It's no coincidence that the show picks up right after Loki...The multiverse has erupted in every possible direction. I think that without going into great detail, I can tell you that What If...? — as a project, as a story that exists in the MCU — is as important as any other and is woven into that tapestry.."
