Disney har ju som vi alla vet så pass tokslut på idéer att de nu gör nya filmer baserade på alla sina gamla. Igen. Enda skillnaden är att de tecknade figurerna nu ersätts av snordyra skådespelare. Djungelboken och Skönheten & Odjuret har redan klarats av och nästa Disney-klassiker till rakning stavas Aladdin, som vi rapporterat om i omgångar. Guy Ritchie (Snatch, Sherlock Holmes, Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels) regisserar och i rollen som Robin Williams blå ande ser vi ingen mindre än Will Smith som nu visat upp sig, för första gången. Det är filmblaskan Entertainment Weekly som i vanlig ordning stoppat upp världsexklusiva "first pics" som du kan glutta på nedan. Ser det fint ut tycker du?
Will Smith om sin variant på Robin Williams ikoniska karaktär:
"Whenever you're doing things that are iconic, it's always terrifying. The question is always: Where was there meat left on the bone? Robin didn't leave a lot of meat on the bone with the character. Robin Williams infused the character with a timeless version of himself. I started to feel confident that I could deliver something that was an homage to Robin Williams but was musically different. Just the flavor of the character would be different enough and unique enough that it would be in a different lane, versus trying to compete."
