Det var bara härom veckan Gamereactor kunde rapportera att en medlem i Lizard Squad (i spelsammanhang mest kända för att periodvis sabotera PSN och Xbox Live) arresterats. Nu meddelar Sky News att ytterligare en person från gruppen åkt fast. Personen är en tonåring från Merseyside och han anhölls på grund av "suspicion of unauthorised access to computer material and for alleged threats to kill", enligt South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU).
Det är dock inte bekräftat om sabotaget mot de som ville spela PSN och Xbox Live under julhandeln har något med specifikt detta anhållande att göra. Polischefen Peter Goodman från cybersäkerhetsavdelningen menar att detta var ett viktigt ingripande och säger:
"This arrest demonstrates that we will pursue those who commit crime with the false perception they are protected within their own homes or hiding behind anonymous online personas.
As we continue to build capability and develop skills across wider policing, we still need industry, communities and individuals to protect themselves by implementing basic security measures whilst taking full advantage and enjoyment of the opportunities the world wide web provides."
