För lite drygt tre veckor sedan hoppade GTA-chefen Leslie Benzies av från sin position hos Rockstar och klippte därmed alla sina band med den populära actionserien. Igår hade sedan utgivaren Take-Two ett gäng möten där bland annat detta avhopp och hur det påverkar seriens framtid togs upp. Högsta hönset Strauss Zelnick bekräftade att Benzies vald att ta långledigt år 2014 för att sedan aldrig mer komma tillbaka samtidigt som han betonar att GTA-seriens framtid inte på något sätt är i fara. Strauss beskrev Rockstars personalsituation påföljande sätt:
"In terms of our colleagues here at every level, we enjoy longstanding relationships with all the people who make this organization tick, we aim to be the best place in the business to work at. We are imperfect, of course, and I'm especially imperfect. But our track record speaks for itself. We have extraordinarily long-term relationships [with our employees] and I'm highly confident they will continue."
På frågan om Leslie hade några spelrelaterade framtidsplaner som Strauss kände till och om han skulle kunna tänka sig "stjäla" personal från Rockstar i framtiden svarade chefen med orden:
"I have all the respect in the world for Leslie and for everyone else here, current and former colleagues, of course, I wish him all the best. I can't comment on his plans."
