Oavsett om du tycker att The Nightmare Before Christmas är en klassisk jul- eller Halloween-film så är det en av alla tiders största stop/motion-animerade succéer. Bara för att få dig att känna dig gammal idag, fyller filmen faktiskt 30 år, och för att fira det har regissören Henry Selick berättat mer om rullens förflutna, nutid och potentiella framtid.
I ett samtal hos People fick Selick frågan om en potentiell uppföljare, men det verkar som om han är allt annat än intresserad. Han anser att filmen är "a perfect movie [that] came out of the perfect time, only to grow into something far bigger over the years" och fortsätter:
"I think Tim [Burton] in particular feels like, why mess with that? He certainly doesn't need to make more money from a sequel. He has had so many other successes, and so far nobody's come up with a great idea for a sequel. And I still think that Tim gets to decide. I don't think there's any idea that would convince him."
Men Selick ser en möjlighet att göra en prolog åtminstone och avrundar: "There might be a more interesting story there about how Jack became the King of Halloweentown".
