Det är manusförfattaren/regissören Joe Carnahan (Smokin Aces, The A-Team, The Grey) som nu färdigställt manuset till den kommande långfilmen baserad på Naughty Dogs spelserie och i en nygjord intervju med Comingsoon.com har han valt att berätta lite om innehållet, hur han ser på Nate och huruvida han hållit sig till den amerikanska åldersgränsen PG-13 när han skrev filmen (vilket han tydligen inte gjort, inte ens nära - något som gör oss på Gamereactor lite extra lyckliga).
Joe Carnahan om Uncharted-manuset:
"When I wrote Uncharted, I didn't spare the rod. I wrote it the way the video game is. They swear in the game, they're kinda foul-mouthed, and I kept all that stuff intact, and I definitely didn't write it as a PG-13 movie. I wrote it the way that movie should be written. Drake is not a guy who likes museums. He thinks they're all crooked. Curators are 'thieves;' the guys in the Louvre and The Met are thieves and despicable. He's a treasure hunter, not an archaeologist. He doesn't have Indiana Jones' idea of pure faith in archaeology. That's not the way he thinks.
I think Amy Hennig did it when she wrote the game. She made Drake very much an anti-Indiana Jones, you know? Don't forget, for that first game after that pirate attack, Drake and Sully leave Elena behind; they dump her. Indiana Jones would never do something like that. That's a rogue act."
Även fast jag personligen inte riktigt minns att vare sig Nate eller Sully svor särskilt mycket under de fyra matiné-äventyren som Naughty Dog slungat ur sig - är det såklart skönt att Sony och Carnahan tänker stoppa in rikligt med videovåld i filmen eftersom Nathan Drake trots allt pangar ihjäl cirka 92 000 lejda hejdukar, per spel, utan minsta lilla eftertanke.
