Weapons-regissören tacklar Resident Evil-film utan att ha sett de tidigare filmerna

Zach Cregger, filmskaparen bakom Barbarian och Weapons, tar sig an Resident Evil. Det som gör detta extra galet är att Cregger faktiskt aldrig har sett en Resident Evil-film tidigare - men det stoppar honom inte.

I en nyligen gjord intervju med podcasten Double Toasted bekräftade Cregger att han är djupt involverad i utvecklingen av sin version av Capcoms ikoniska skräckserie.

"All I can say is that it is true to the experience of the games, andtakes place in the world of the games...And what that means is, it follows one protagonist from point A to point B as they just descend deeper and deeper and deeper into hell... I've played many thousands and thousands of hours of Resident Evil, and I just feel like I know how that pacing can go... I've never seen a Resident Evil movie, and so, you know, I imagine that if there are people out there that are just rabid fans of the movie franchise, they're probably not really prepared for what I'm going to be doing. But I think the people that are fans of the games are probably going to be stoked."

Det är onekligen imponerande att han faktiskt aldrig har sett någon av de tidigare Resident Evil-filmerna, och bra är väl det för då påverkas han inte heller av dem när han gör sin egen version.
Med Weapons som passerat 200 miljoner dollar på biograferna har Cregger redan bevisat att han vet hur man levererar något stort och oväntat. Nu riktar han in sig på en av de mest älskade skräckserierna inom spelvärlden.
