"Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of GRTV News. Today we're going to be talking about a new TV show or a recently released TV show with that being One Piece on Netflix. Now the show has been long awaited for a live action adaptation of such a famous and well-loved anime and manga. It had a lot riding on it to be good and not to be just another version of a Netflix show that kind of like feels like it was a little bit half-baked in the same way that Cowboy Bebop kind of felt. But it's come out and people are seemingly really enjoying the show. Not only is it doing quite well in sort of a fan critical sense but it's also breaking all kinds of viewership records on Netflix itself. So with that being the case let's take a look at what the show is doing. One Piece becomes Netflix's biggest hit and beat Stranger Things and Wednesday's records. The streaming giant has made Luffy's adventure the most watched in 84 territories. Whether you're a fan of manga or anime or not you're sure to have heard of One Piece at some point in your life. The pirate series that follows Monkey D. Luffy's quest to become king of the pirates and find the legendary Gold Roger's treasure has been making its way down the grand line for 30 years now. It's been less than a week since Netflix released a live action adaptation and the months leading up to it we've seen a lot of fear that the series, one of the most beloved in history, would become another poorly adapted product for the screen. But it seems that this has not been the case, quite the opposite. One Piece has won over critics and audiences alike with a critical rating of 83% of Rotten Tomatoes, audience rating of 96% and is already the series with the best average of the year. But it could become Netflix's new flagship, a Jolly Roger of course, in view of the ratings it has achieved so far. According to Comic Book, the series has become the most watched in 84 territories breaking a record previously held by Stranger Things and Wednesday. Luffy beats Eleven and the young member of the Addams Family by one territory, both of the most watched in 83 countries and becomes Netflix's best premiere ever. With such numbers and the sheer number of One Piece arc stories and scripts already out there, the anime is now approaching 1,100 episodes. We have no doubt that Netflix will continue to exploit the brand and that has only just begun. So yeah, the good thing about One Piece is there's a huge amount of source material out there that they can adapt and continue this series. I can't imagine Netflix is looking to produce, you know, a thousand episodes of a show. I can imagine it would probably run, let's say, you know, best case scenario, it doesn't get cancelled and they get to fully realise the vision for it, you know, it'd probably run for a good sort of, you know, seven, eight seasons or something like that before they look to wrap it up with so much source material behind it."

"But yeah, there's a lot to look forward to here. We haven't actually seen the full viewership figures yet. One of the really key things about Stranger Things and Wednesday is not just the amount of territories that they were watched in but the viewership numbers they pulled in because they're still sort of like the most watched TV series on Netflix and we're waiting for that information to be revealed by Netflix to see how big the premiere and this debut has been for One Piece and likewise over the coming sort of weeks and months how that will continue and whether One Piece will end up being one of Netflix's sort of most watched TV series ever."

"But yeah, as we know more about that information we'll be sure to keep you posted and updated otherwise when we ultimately hear that season two of One Piece has been renewed and greenlit we'll be sure to keep you posted on that as well. But until then, thank you for watching today's episode we'll see you on the next one tomorrow and until then hope you enjoy the rest of your Tuesday catch you in the next one"
